Toxikk Gameplay Basics

In anticipation of Toxikk's release, I wanted to post a guide of how to do things in-game. It's based on some forum posts and videos. The idea is to allow people to hit the ground running on day 1.


Movement

• Standard WASD movement
  
• No sprinting - default movement is fast anyway
  
• There will be a keybind for walking - hides footstep sounds for stealth
  
• There is crouching, also for stealth
  
• There is jumping, double jumping, and wall jumping
  
• Jumping alone will not increase movement speed
  
• Double tap strafe keys to dodge quickly to the side
  
• Dodge + double jump will move you the fastest
  
• Wall jump + dodge + double jump to cover large distances in the air
  

Weapons

1. Impactor: melee weapon, vehicle repair tool, not a pickup
   
2. Raven: pistol, semi-auto or 3-round burst, not a pickup
   
3. Bullcraft: shotgun, single or double pump
   
4. Violator: assault rifle, fully-auto, grenade launcher attachment
   
5. Falcon: sniper rifle, bolt action, OHK head shots
   
6. Stingray: plasma gun, projectile or beam, beam has OHK head shots
   
7. Dragoneer: flamethrower, ray or fireball
   
8. Cerebus: rocket launcher, unguided and guided
   
9. Hellraiser: nuclear, seems like a rare orbital strike type weapon
   

I will set Shift as my dodge key. You'll be dodge jumping alot more than walking in this game.

4 main guns people will contest for:

Rifle, Rocket Launcher, Plasma and Assault

When learning the maps you need to memorize
1. Weapon + ammo locations
2. Health + Armour pickups

Map control is basically developing a rotational route between those 4 weapons and survival pickups.

Basic premise of the game is simple. Keep looting the map clean of all these items for your team and deny the enemy from picking them up. The longer you hold on to this power advantage the more likely it is your team wins.
