Re: TOXIKK (Creed's Next Game)
It will feature a server list menu where you get to pick whose server you play on. And yes, we can host our own server to call home.
Ranked matches played on officials servers weren't explained how they will handle the matchmaking. Including ping / regions. But I am confident requests to fix any shortcomings will be entertained.
Dev team has proven that they do so far.

Re: TOXIKK (Creed's Next Game)
any thoughts on the movement vid?
atm there is a discussion going on the toxikk forum about ut99 against ut2004
I did not like ut 2004 to much , but mainly it was because i liked ut99 better (thanks to kine I know witch one i was playing ) or i just played that one a lot and got customed to it therefor i did not think it needed any adjustments.
I still think double dodges double jumps , are not needed in a arena shooter. but it's probably a week to get used too and then ... who cares.
The discussion however is great ... Man there are some conservative players out there.
Anyway. what do you think about the model after watching this vid?

I like the idea of being able to dodge. That way I'm not entirely at the mercy of getting to someone first, though that still should be the priority. One movement thing that i've found in some FPS games is that when movement gets to the point where its too fast it no longer is about accuracy, tactics, etc. It just becomes one big sprint fest about who can get to the boosters first then it's game over.

yea i was thinking that, limit the boosters or put them in places where you're also can be ambushed.

Re: TOXIKK (Creed's Next Game)
UT2k4 sucked
Its' movement even worse
But that is wholly personal preference which is why its difficult to deal with.
There are 2 schools
1. Normal Quake / UT
2. Fly like ninjas
Both want speed to move around and run gun as it tests both shooting and not get shot at skills at the same time.
Problem with UT2k4 is it overdid the 'not get shot at' aspect. If you are really good at the new movement system - its' practically impossible to hit you.
This does 2 things
1. Some weapons become uncompetitive
2. In laggy matches (which is the norm with online play) high lag players will be severely disadvantaged.
It isnt the mechanics at fault but more about how fast / far you move relative to weapon projectile etc. ie - is it possible to hurt you in online games.
If it's made too easy to stay alive / too hard to kill then the mechanic fails. Instead a new meta of 'bombing' happens where people start playing the game totally different to adapt.
In one match where I played the entire team camped a choke point and just nuked a specific spot for the duration of the match simply because everyone was lagging and couldn't hit opponents normally. We just stood there nuking the shit out of an empty corridor and hope we kill enough to win via area damage. And ammo / health pickups were more like human pod races where we dodged jumped around to see who gets to them first. No one bothered to really shoot coz we all know it wont hit.
Concerning toxikk - i cannot tell if that is the case or not because we only got to see speed and distance but not all the weapons fired. And then there is the actual hit box / detection and netcode issues. In summary:
Fingers Crossed.

Re: TOXIKK (Creed's Next Game)
GravitationalArt seems to got over his problem with me..he was talking about trying to assimilate the Creed community with 1337 (I laughed to myself; though considered the idea.). I also told him about toxikk, and said he should see if 1337 is interested in joining when it comes out. He said he'd pitch it to the clan. Might have some early competition

As many of you've asked for more transparency about what's going on at KK, here's a bit of insight about our current plannings and proceedings: Up to Wednesday, we'll run multiple heavy testing sessions with the goal of defining the final amount of polishing, fixes etc. needed for the closed beta (early access) release. The good news is, that everything seems to run quite stable already and we have a blast playing the game.
Once we got "the final list" nailed down, we'll then sit down and decide over the release date of the closed beta.
Expect an announcement with the final release date for the closed beta within this week.

Re: TOXIKK (Creed's Next Game)
After going through a couple of heavy testing sessions, we now defined the final release date for the beta: TOXIKK will hit Steam's Early Access program on January, 22. We had to expand our original beta release estimation (Q4/2014) by three weeks, as the final alpha stage revealed some hard to replicate network issues and some UI problems that require a bit more attention, than what we could have achieved before this month is over. And also..., there's Xmas
The TOXIKK Pro-League Founders' Program (25% discounted pre-orders, forum badges, in-game founders' skins etc.) will end on January, 10. From that date on, we'll no longer offer the game through our website. Full price purchases will be possible through Steam only, starting January 22.
We value our community and are grateful for all the support we received from the people who have pre-ordered the game through the Pro-League Founder's Program. All that extra cash went straight into polishing the game to a point, where we believe that you'll have a lot of fun with TOXIKK, right from its first day on Steam.
Thank you all for your support and see you in-game!
