Star Citizen is a game that has been in development for a few years now, and is set to release next year in July. It is a Space Simulator, giving you the opportunity to live different lifestyles as a pilot in the future. The game comes with different ship types specifically to fit your career type or what you want to do, and can own multiple ships and characters. The problem is, when your ship explodes, its gone forever unless you have insurance, and you can survive a limited amount of ship explosions (the dogfight module does not affect your ship if you don't have insurance, nor does it affect your character). The different ship types are Personal transport, Versatile, fighter, bomber, cargo, capitol. I will first describe cargo, because that field I find most interesting. So far, the game is in alpha with a hanger and dogfight module. You can buy different hangers as well, and with all of this, the game has raised around $90 million with top end graphics. The game will give you the option to pledge for a ship with Real Life money, and it also gives you different extras. Right now each ship will come with 6 months of insurance, but insurance can be earned and bought (first things first...Insurance, then ships. Not Ships, then insurance. Too much of a risk). You may need a joystick to play this game, but it is possible to play with the keyboard(may take some getting used to).
You can be a Cargo transporter, traveling through dangerous parts of space flooded with pirates. The ideal thought so far for transports is you will be payed based on cargo value, cargo amount, the route you had to take(cost efficiency based upon the danger of pirates , asteroid belts, nebula's, etc. and ammo consumption), and how long it took for you to transport the cargo. You can have a 1 man ship for some types of cargo loads, and smaller ships have cargo capability, but in the long run their small cargo space isn't worth the trouble to go through. You can also have multi manned cargo ships for large cargo loads. There is also the ability to be a salvage ship, multi manned, or a mining ship, also multi manned. With how large they plan the universe on being, the different routes should provide a variety of challenges, making it, for me anyway, the most interesting type.
Next Is the fighter class. This myself I will actually put more money for a decent ship into, mainly because there aren't enough ships out there that I like for cargo(The aurora is damn ugly if you ask me). The fighter class they haven't gotten that far into, but
This Ship and its description gives you an idea of what fighter ships are going to do for you.
Versatile ships are great for multiple activities, such as races, fast movement combat, and group pirating( say you and a couple of friends, one in a cargo ship, are in a area where a lot of cargo ships pass through...you can take your versatile ship and use it as a distraction or way of taking out the ship for you and your friends. The cargo ship with your little convoy can then collect the rewards and split evenly when ya get back home/to the hanger). The race courses actually look quite interesting, and a video for that can be watched
here.Racing may seem bland at first, but they will also add combat capabilities, making it more challenging to win the race. Versitile ships can also be considered fighter ships.
Bombers haven't really bun touched that much, but are basically meant for attacking large facilities, ships, ground areas, etc.
Now what makes the game more interesting is that, say there's some cargo at space station 732 phoenix, and you want it. You gatta FPS you way through to it. There will be a FPS part for the game, and a video demonstrating that can be found
here (skip to 20 minutes)https://www.robertspaceindustries.org/ this is the website, you can navigate and read around about the game, and here is the ship catalog:

Here is a ship commercial (don't think that with this commercial, that other ships [like the 2nd ship that attacks the hornet] is obsolete.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0gZES2pTWk
