W-customization is coming

Hey guys. The first two guns for customization, M4A1 and AK105, are planned to be released within these last couple days of January or a couple days into February. I personally can't wait to stick an Orsis scope on the m4a1 like this picture. W-skins will also be available like in this image. Each individual mod will affect the stats of the weapon, opening up a whole other level to this game. Personalization of the weapon will probably be more effective towards performance than a player's skill tree, which would completely flip the current system of Skill Tree>all. I'm looking forward to it

It already exists haha.
The weapon task for the gun was added several months ago. I think it's like 200 longshots for Orsis scope + silencer.

OK, got some updated info. Their release is slightly behind schedule. They're still working out some bugs with it. They have given a hard release date of two weeks from now, with a live stream of the developers using the modded weapons in a week or so. Looking forward to what they have on the stream

Here is a video of them testing customization in the development map. Seems like there are some gridded targets for weapon accuracy, and "cloud domes" that look like the radius of mortars nade I and II. Skip to 13:00 to get to where they are testing the new sights.
The new sights are very realistic now, quite similar to insurgency. I think i'm going to LOVE using the new sights. Optics are also really improved. Aim points within the sights move as you move the scope or sight.

Contract Wars has teh best guns in any shooter game. And now with gunpr0n !!
My only wish now would be for better designed maps that has TE in mind. Do it Third ! Contract Wars guns + Ghost Recon maps = FPS heaven.

You're right. Every 10k exp you will earn one "wings". These are used to purchase mods within the tiers. I think you need to earn 180k EXP with a weapon for all the mods to become unlocked, though it will probably take more than 18 wings to purchase all the mods.
If you look at the video closely, it shows w-task as level 00, which is required to unlock the below tiers.

Quick question. What happened to the ORSIS??? Also any new guns worth checking out? Played my first game in a while today.

The Orsis and Devgru, along with some lower tier 1 guns were removed from the game for those who have not purchased them. The developers have not given a reason, only that they will be available for purchase during "special events". This removal has been seen coming for a long time now, since the devgru was removed on VK over half a year ago.
I don't know how long you're talking about, so the only new gun in the past couple months has been the SA58. A tier 6 monster that is one of my favorites. It's a high mobility low fire rate gun that has been compared as an AKMS with noveske stats. It cannot be silenced, but IMO it does not need a silencer in the situations where it works best (long maps). Along with the MDR, it is the only gun that can three hit a player without renting, and two hit any player if renting penetration. Task is 60 storms and it gives you an Aim Point sight like the Val3's.

Another video has been released. This is the developers and testers play in a closed match (they suck). But it gives a good idea of what they will play like.
I personally like the look of the m4a1 optics. Nasty thing.
Somewhere in the video they say it will be released in 2- 2 1/2 weeks (again ::eyeroll:: )
